How to Use
Large Animal
(equine, beef, swine, sheep, etc.)
- Clean stall thoroughly
- Spread bedding approx. 1/2 – 3/4″ thick (~1 bag per 20 sq ft)
- Moistening bedding is optional
- Remove manure and urine soaked spots with rake daily
- Add 1 bag of bedding per week per animal (up to 2 bags for very large animals with high water intake)
- For equine, typically 50-60 bags are needed per horse annually

Small Animal
(dogs, cats, rabbits, ferrets, etc.)
- Clean litter box thoroughly
- Spread 1-2 inches of bedding over bottom
- Remove feces and urine soaked spots with rake or slotted scoop daily
- Add fresh bedding to litter box as needed
- Empty out litter box at least once a month and start with fresh bedding
Be a good steward and compost used bedding when possible. Some biomass combustion equipment can burn used bedding as a fuel.
